The closest village to Como on the eastern shore
Torno is a small harbour village on the eastern shore, a short drive from Como. A square on the water, the church of San Giovanni above the lake and narrow lanes behind it. Across the water you have the villas of Moltrasio and Carate.

Villa Pliniana, from the water
Just north of Torno, Villa Pliniana stands on the water at the foot of the mountain, around the spring that Pliny described almost two thousand years ago. From the land you can hardly see it. From the boat it appears whole, with its waterfall beside it.

Bruno meets you at Torno public pier. From here the one-hour tour crosses to the western shore: Villa d'Este, Villa Passalacqua and Gianni Versace's villa; with three hours you go up to Bellagio.
